Preserving the Future by Rescuing the Past.
New Dawn Productions LLC is an independent film studio dedicated to building "cinematic time capsules." Based in the heart of the Arizona desert, we operate at the unique intersection of untold local history and cutting-edge filmmaking technology.
Founded by Dave A. Margulis, a U.S. Air Force veteran over 8 years of active-duty service, our studio is built on an indomitable spirit. We bring military-grade discipline to the creative process, ensuring that every project from sci-fi narratives to archival documentaries is executed with precision and purpose.
Making History at ASU MIX XR
We are proud to be the pioneers of the "Virtual Desert," having produced "Where Do The Cars Go?" the historic first narrative film shot at the world-class ASU MIX XR studio in Mesa, AZ. By leveraging LED volume technology and Extended Reality (XR), we are redefining what is possible for independent cinema in the Southwest.
The Relentless Chase
Our current flagship project, "The Lemonade Special of 1976," exemplifies our commitment to historical integrity. We are currently leading a relentless archival search for the visual soul of Phoenix's $22M transit bailout, transforming "lemons" of forgotten history into cinematic lemonade for a new generation.
Whether we are capturing 4K aerial vistas or unearthing a lost 16mm reel, New Dawn Productions is committed to stories that endure.
